Big Problem

Commercial organizations face thousands of potential customers but limited time, budget, and sales capacity. Identifying high-fit prospects often depends on individual skill and persistence with prospecting rather than a repeatable evaluation process.

Symptoms

We need more leads

Where should we focus next

Which companies are actually worth pursuing

How do I know this is a high-quality opportunity

We are wasting too much time on prospects that were never a fit

The Context

Traditional prospecting emphasized generating more leads rather than identifying better opportunities. Market signals, ICP characteristics, labor pressures, production methods, customer success patterns, historical campaign performance, and commercial evidence existed across multiple sources but were not synthesized into a consistent opportunity identification process.

My Role

  • Built and AI-assisted commercial priority intelligence system that connected market signals to strategic commercial priorities.

  • I translated ICP strategy, customer evidence, buying drivers, growth tensions, historical marketing performance, and commercial frameworks into a repeatable opportunity discovery process that proactively identified high-fit prospects and prioritized them based on expected commercial leverage.

Enabled through: ICP evaluation, industry segmentation, growth signal analysis, labor market indicators, manufacturing workflow assessment, historical campaign ROI, commercial fit scoring, customer evidence mapping, AI-assisted research, building AI agent suite, AI agent guardrail development

The Transformation

Commercial prospecting shifted from reactive list building toward proactive opportunity intelligence. Rather than pursuing companies because they were available, commercial teams could prioritize organizations demonstrating the strongest alignment with strategic objectives, historical success patterns, and commercial readiness.

Enterprise Impact

Established a scalable framework for proactively identifying high-potential commercial opportunities, improve the quality of pipeline development while reducing time spent evaluating low-fit prospects. Created the foundation for an AI-assisted market-sensing that aligned commercial attention with the organization’s highest-probability growth opportunities.

Takeaway

Commercial intelligence is the discipline of deciding what deserves attention before it becomes a lead.

Why This Works

Commercial opportunity intelligence creates enterprise value by focusing limited commercial resources on organizations that exhibit the strongest combination of strategic fit, commercial readiness, and expected business impact before significant sales or marketing investment occurs.
